OCTOBER  CLUB UPDATE

The meeting was called to order by President, Michael Smith at 8:31.  The minutes of the
previous meeting were read by the membership and approved after a motion by W. Bonner
and seconded by T. Jackson.  A Quorum was present.


1. Treasures report read and approved.  (See report)
(M) T. Jackson (2nd) N. Babbitt.  Motion passed.

2. Tournament report: J. Howell reported on the Mickey Grove tournament.  Frank
Cuthbert, Bennie Smith was winners.  A. Davis and F. Cuthbert were closest to the pen.  Cal
Johnson won the long drive competition.  The 2009 tournament schedule will be presented
at a later meeting.  There is a new NCGA software package available for planning
tournaments.  It is believed that it may be little too elaborate for our tournaments but it will
be studied by the tournament chairman.  Bethel Island will be taken off of the tournament
schedule for the coming year.  There will be six regular tournaments and additional
tournaments without tournament fees.

3. Benev. Report:  No new information.

4. Old business. There was no report on the By-laws.  There was no report on the Emeritus
status.  Both the Don Cherry perpetual trophy and the championship trophy will be
awarded in during the 2009 tournament year.  Trophies to remain at Chabot with plaques or
replicas given to the winners.

5. New business:
       a.        A membership packet will be developed and provided to new members when      
                   they join the Club.  J. Jackson will prepare the packet.  
       b.        Emeritus status will be discussed at a special called meeting of the officers with   
                   the results presented to the club at the next regular meeting.  The members        
                   nominated are, Don Cherry, Leon Hunter, George Mitchell and Norman            
                    Thompson.  Member can be nominated by any  member of the club.  
       c.        NCGA dues are due for the 2009 calendar year.  Clarification by W. Bonner         
                 regarding the additional tournament concept.  Bonner pointed that any time that
                  we play can be designated a tournament if we call it such.    
        d.        Henry Dorsey reported that the High Praise Community Church was having a  
                    tournament on Oct. 25th at Lone Tree golf course.  Anyone interested should    
                     get further information form H. Dorsey
